FAQs
Whether you're a board member exploring what's possible, or a resident curious about how your community website works, this page answers the most common questions about Sundahl Digital's services, process, and philosophy.
Every community is different, and so is the way each board wants to be involved. Some boards prefer a fully hands-off experience — I handle everything from announcements and photo uploads to email blasts and text alerts, so your team can focus on running the community, not managing a website. Other boards have tech-savvy members or staff who enjoy being hands-on, and I'm happy to train them to publish their own announcements, send communications, and update the site directly. Either way, I'm here as the backbone of your website year-round — training staff and board members, troubleshooting issues, rolling out new features, and making sure the platform grows alongside your community's needs.
I also love helping communities use their website as more than just a communication tool. From building out a social calendar of community events to showcasing the neighborhood to prospective buyers and homeowners — and even listing homes currently for sale within the community — your website can become a real asset for both current residents and future ones.

-
chevron_rightHow long has Sundahl Digital been managing community websites? Sundahl Digital has been building and managing HOA and condo community websites since around 2012. Over that time, I've developed long-standing relationships with boards of directors, property managers, and management companies across Suffolk County — many of which have lasted well over a decade.
-
chevron_rightHow many communities do you currently manage? I currently manage and maintain 15 individual community websites, each customized to fit that specific community's needs, features, and branding. Every site is actively maintained, monitored, and kept up to date.
-
chevron_rightWhat makes Sundahl Digital different from a typical web developer? Unlike a general web developer, I bring firsthand experience as a former HOA board member and resident owner at The Ranches. I understand community living from the inside — the priorities of a board, the concerns of residents, and the day-to-day realities of managing a shared community. I also hold an MBA and have spent years working as a technology and business teacher, which means I approach every website not just as a design project, but as a business tool built on sound operational thinking.
-
chevron_rightHow do you handle changes in management companies, board members, or staff? Communities change over time — new board members are elected, management companies transition, and staff like groundskeepers or property managers come and go. I remain independent and professional through all of it, working smoothly with whatever team is currently in place. My focus has always been consistency for the community itself, regardless of who's currently managing it.
-
chevron_rightHow do you keep the websites current and secure? I continuously monitor and update every platform I manage, ensuring security, performance, and reliability. If a feature isn't being used by a community, I turn it off and hide it to keep the site clean and simple. If a board wants to explore a new feature, I can build it out and show them exactly how it will look and function before it ever goes live — no guesswork, no surprises.
-
chevron_rightWhat other features are available that my community isn't using yet? After years of live operation, many communities are ready to do more with their websites. Features like message boards and online voting are available and can be added for boards looking to increase resident engagement and streamline communication — I'm always happy to walk through what's possible for your community.
-
chevron_rightWhy should our board choose Sundahl Digital? Because I genuinely love this work. Between running Sundahl Digital, teaching technology and business full-time, and doing private tutoring and technology training, I bring a rare combination of technical skill, business strategy, and real community experience to every website I build. My clients aren't just customers — they're long-term partners, and many have trusted me for over a decade.
